At the first-ever Talent Event in Olokirdingae village, Kajiado County, the school-going girls, boys, and the Morans curiously took turns to test the mouse and browser at the display table of one of the Talent Event sponsors, ACWICT. Another group was learning the parts of a computer at the display table of Computer Revolution Africa, while another group was exploring the TomorrowNow Digitech content. For many, this was the first time they encountered Digital Technology with experts.
Hope Ventures’ aim in organising the Annual Talent Event is to expose the community to sports, Digital technology, agriculture, investment and entrepreneurship opportunities for community empowerment.
And eager for the new knowledge, the Morans experienced a shift; they held their talking sticks with their left hand to easily engage the browser with their right hand. And they surfed away into the digital technology world that will revolutionise their thinking, learning, way of business, investments, and fortunes and ultimately revolutionise their village, maybe, into a modern digital technology hub.
Hope Ventures, on part of its 19.5 acres of land in Olokirdangae village, Kajiado county, is set to develop an Education Centre, which shall include a Digital Technology Centre to enhance the uptake and use of digital technology in this community. The aim is to grow the socio-economics of the community using modern-day knowledge. Hope Ventures seek partners in the digital technology space, like those who sponsored the Talent Event of 8th October 2022, to help set up this centre towards improved livelihoods for all and also sponsor this Annual Talent Event.
