About Hope Ventures
Hope Ventures was established in 1989 and formally registered with the Government of Kenya as Community Based Organization (CBO) in 2004. Our aim was to address the increasing number of street children due to escalating urban poverty and orphaned and vulnerable children due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
It began as a nursery school offering Early Childhood Education to over 500 children from vulnerable communities within Kibra slums, Nairobi. In addition, we have been providing basic necessities such as food, clothing, and education, a safe environment for physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being through a Feeding program to over 300 children.
Since 2009, we have been expanding the program to a more Integrated Education Program incorporating formal primary education, resource centres, adult literacy, Computer training and Digital Literacy as well as Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) impacting over 500 youths and women.
We have a vision to scale our activities into Ewuaso Kedong, Kajiado West Sub-County, Kajiado County, Kenya, to reach at least 5,000 children, youths, men and women within the next five years. This has been necessitated by the need to continue empowering vulnerable and less privileged communities through capacity building and sustainable projects.
